Here is it, everybody! The moment you’ve all been waiting for… Our 12 annual Great Brew Tour itinerary.
We’ve got a busy week planned this year. It’s probably our most brewery tour intense and mileage intense tour to date. It’s also going to be our most awesome tour to date! I’m dubbing this year the “Tour of Legends”. Soon you’ll see why.
Here we go…
Day 1- Tuesday, July 31st
We leave the Shakopee Town Brewery in Shakopee, MN early in the morning with our crew of five. Jesse, Mark, Tony, Pete, and Uncle Dan. We will load into the Brewtourmobile and head out to our first stop in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. We’ll be meeting with our good buddy, Randy Hughes, at the City Brewery; truly a legend of Wisconsin brewing. We’ll sit down in his breweriana laden office and discuss what’s happening at one of the biggest and coolest breweries we’ve ever visited.
After our visit with Randy, we’re off to Arena, Wisconsin to see Tom Porter at Lake Louie Brewing. We are really excited to meet Tom for the first time. We have tasted several of his delicious brews, and can wait to see Tom and see is operation. I’m sure we’ll have great things to report next week about our visit
We’ll leave Arena, and travel to Middleton, where the Kirby Nelson, the “Lord of the Lagers” and another legend of Wisconsin brewing, works his magic. As always, we are truly excited to see the crew at Capital Brewery, and visit the Beer Garden, one of our favorite places in Wisconsin. If you’re in the area, and you’d like to stop by the beer Garden and say hi, send us a tweet or an email and let us know!
Whew! That’s a big first day. Lot’s of miles and lots of fun.
This is getting pretty long. I think I’ll end it here and put Wednesday and Thursday in a separate post.
Cheers!
Jesse
